Ever since, I am an avid aficionado of ART. That’s why I am also a ember of an art guild based on University o Rizal System Binangonan Campus the DAMDAM KALILIMODAN. As part of Damdam Kalilimodan, we cannot avoid idolizing some well known theatre group, I admire
I admired so much the University of Rizal System Morong DIAMOND THEATER

Diamond theatre is celebrating their 11th year of existence in the field of theater and entertainment. Part of their celebration is their annual performance. This year they brought another high quality entertaining play entitled “SIMOUN: ANG EL FELIBUSTERISMO SA BAGONG PANAHON”. It was showed December 1, 2009 up to December 5 of the same year. The story is an adaptation of Dr. Jose Rizal’s book el felibusterismo. They just put the setting into modern environment but the flow of the story still tackles betrayal, power, love, tragedy and selfishness.

I myself, together with Economic third level namely, Vinna Villaus, heather Balmas, Leeboy Aringo, Erwin Calibo and Iomerta Dalama witnessed the peculiar but replicated concept of their play. The ticket amount is php100.


Last year I also watched their 10th year performance entitled “ang muling pagsayaw ng talahib” which is a sequel of their past performance.

Moreover the story itself gave the true meaning between idiocy and principle. It really reflects on the current situation w/c is freedom. The message of the story was “Until when the Filipino wait for the true freedom?” There were no differences between the time of Spanish and the current time. The way we suffered in the hand of Spanish and the way of living nowadays, the scenario is still the same if we figure it out in the whole picture. The dilemma of politics, selfishness and sufferings of the Filipinos still exist now.

On the other hand, my classmates and I, stood by in cafeteria, we decided to eat before the show begin. Fortunately, while we ate our lunch, the cast was there to eat their lunch. They ordered their foods. Suddenly I was shocked, I heard a scream and I noticed one of the cast lied on the flooring, her foods scattered besides her and bloods was on the floor. Simultaneously, the other cast help her and brought her to the university clinic. I heard rumors that the said cast was dizzy that time because they just finished the morning show.

Like wise, despite of what happened; the quality of the performance was maintained. I noticed the cast on their production number dances but she has bondage in her forehead. Yet the profiling, the leveling, blockings and every details of the play were very well done. The choreography of the dance routine was good. It was executed with confidence. The transitions of one scene into other scenes were very smooth. The lights were very well directed. And most especially the casting were very will chosen by the director prior to the capability of the actor, they are versatile, handsome and beautiful

Therefore, I went back home w/ an admiration of the DIAMOND THEATER, they really had an asset w/c is their director Jessie.

Right now, they are preparing for the year 2010 first ever trilogy w/c is entitled
“SUPER D” they played their teaser before the play conducted, meaning to say they prepared it for one year. Nice!!!!!!!!!!
