7. After writing your diary, you mutter: “Only my diary understands…”

First, we must congratulate Star Cinema for courageously producing this gender-sensitive movie which used to be the staple of the more“sexually exploitative” indie films with the likes Briliante Mendoza (Masahista) and Jay Altajeros (Ang Lalaki sa Parola).
What sets "In My Life"apart from indie films is that it doesn’t exploit sex to make it marketable.
In My Life doesn’t position itself as sex movie where nudity is the drawing factor. It
builds on a universal story of a mother and her love for her son; and the star power of its main casts. After all, this is the Star for All Seasons taking a leave of absence from her gubernatorial duties to shoot this film. Olivia Lamazan is one of the few brilliant directors who finds nuances in her material and investigates each character carefully.
It is also quite brave of John Lloyd and Luis to accept these gay roles. While not quite pioneering because straight actors have played gay roles in Philippine cinema for the past few years, it is a badge of courage for any actor. A lot of celebrities look at the effect of Brokeback Mountain on its actors and find inspiration there.
Having said that, I have two issues in my mind:
1. Will the Catholic Church tolerate it?
Star Cinema obviously avoids the gay theme in its promotion and asserts that it is a family movie. Why? On one hand, the story seems to center on the mother and her son relationship. On the other hand, it is also possible that the ABS-CBN production outfit doesn’t want to trigger the sensibilities of the conservative crowd, especially CBCP who has a history of denouncing anything it sees contrary to church morals including the ban of Da Vinci Code and the Harry Potter Series (witchcraft is against the doctrine).
In My Life has the potential of being a groundbreaking movie as it pushes gay relationship into the center without making a caricature out of it. It was a marginal issue for a long time, kept in the closet of our national consciousness and explored only in independently produced movies. With this film, it becomes easier for gay men and women to come out to their families, (hey Mom, remember that movie In My Life?)
2. How will this affect the images of both John Lloyd and Luis Manzano
I think it was Sam Milby or Piolo Pascual who said that in the Philippines, you cannot be a popular actor without your sexuality being questioned. Raymond Guttierez avoids this inquiry like the H1N1 plague! Every hunk is subjected to the “is or is he not” litmus test. Every once in a while, the public is proven correct (paging BB Gandanghari). But know things are changing... We see John Lloyd regularly doing his “cheesy” and near "gay-roles" with his famous pizza commercials.
Playing a gay character is not so much a test of one’s sexuality but of one’s acting competence. John Lloyd and Luis Manzano has proven this without a shadow of a doubt; assuming a character beyond their personal experience and improving their capacity to internalize and express an “outlandish” identity with ease and comfort.
Luis Manzano said it well, "Nung ginawa namin yung eksena, of course, nagkanya-kanya kaming kanto, nagmuni-muni muna, siyempre. Kasi f
or me, initially, it was one of the factors kaya ako nagulat and I initially declined the role. But after reading the script, you have to step out of your comfort zone. And I completely trust Direk Olive. Pag dumating na yung actual scene na yun sa movie, you don't necessarily see John Lloyd Cruz and Luis Manzano kissing, but you'll see Noel and Mark sharing a very, very intimate moment, which is a beautiful part of the story. We made sure na everything is perfect, hinintay talaga namin yung araw. We want to believe na madadala kayo dun sa eksena at sa mga karakter, hindi dahil sa dalawang lalaking artista na naghalikan sa harap n'yo."
In My Life has the makings of a great movie – one which doesn’t come to town as often as we want. I wish people will see it as it is – a film that explores the intricacies of modern-day relationships and finds its center in universal values of love and acceptance.

LONDON - Facebook's free online game Farmville, which allows users to run their own virtual farm, is set to become the most popular application on the social networking site.
Farmville, which allows Facebook members to plant, grow, and harvest virtual crops, trees, raise livestock, invest in farm equipment and sell their produce for profit, has become very popular ever since it was launched on June 19.
The game has nearly 35 million monthly users, and it soon surpass the 35,554,755 record achieved by the 'How Well Do You Know Me?' application on the site.
The game's popularity has been boosted by a growing trend among urbanites to try to their hand to the rural life by harvesting vegetables, milking cows, and shearing sheep.
AllFacebook, a website which tracks the popularity of applications, has estimated that there are over 72 million farmers on Facebook across a number of farming games.
Farmville's San Francisco-based developer, Zynga, says that the game provided a simple, fun way for people to unwind at the end of the day, with players spending an average of 20 minutes a day tending to their farms, with much of that time taken up with planting their fields.
Although Farmville is free to play, Zynga draws revenue from online advertising and from some users who are prepared to pay for virtual goods.
Mark Pincus, the Zynga Chief Executive, bran
ded the game a 'cultural phenomenon' and claimed it taps into a new demand for family-friendly games.
"By combining the best elements of social gaming, with people's instinct to nurture, we've created an incredibly fun, wholesome and rewarding experience," the Telegraph quoted him as saying.
Another farming game, Farm Town, is Facebook's second most popular application.
The rest of the top ten includes a range of applications, which allow users to do anything from donating to charity to starting a virtual Mafia family.

Stir.ph writes about Vilma Santos' and John Lloyd Cruz's new film "All My Life", which is Star Cinema's offer on the "New Wave of Philippine Gay Cinema" which, according to this entertainment website is influenced by the independent scene headed by Joselito Altarejos:
"Taking from indie films’ new wave gay cinema with Joselito Altarejos as genre leader, Star Cinema released it’s first gay-themed movie In My Life on September 16. Based on the script of Senedy Que and Raymond Lee, Olivia Lamasan directs In My Life which deals with gay issues and how it affects a mother.
The Tornino Gay and Lesbian Film Festival coined the term “new wave gay cinema” for the new portrayals of gay characters and tackle gay issues upfront. Standard gay cinema deals with gay issues but they are mainly for viewing by gays. But in the case of Joselito and, for that matter, Olivia, they tackle the gay theme within the framework of the larger social perspective, the gay-themed film treated as just a film.
Besides this new treatment, the fact that Luis is Vilma’s real-life son gives it greater realism. True, the Vilma specials were so-so raters but that was largely because of the late airing time. Their ratings don’t reflect the movie’s box-office potential at all. Vilma’s character is entirely new. She will bring uncommon depth that will pass by mouth around the metro.
“In My Life” will be watched not only by gays but by all genders, by families as it is a family movie. It tackles a rarely discussed theme, gay death and how the family copes. Let’s not forget it was shot in New York and Flips are lovers for virtual trips to foreign lands. Let’s not forget, John Lloyd is the current Box-office King and he’s largely unseen on television now except for his TVCs.
Warpies and warties must not underestimate the Flips’ ability to determine a good film. With a casting coup, a terrific story, a foreign location, superb direction and excellent marketing, “All My Life’s” bound to be a movie Flips will be proud to watch. Its only problem is to get it to screen in SM Cinemas. If it does not, moviegoers will have to try a little harder by going to alternative cinemas."

When I heard the name St. Thomas Aquinas it is the word “Right to own”. His advocacy is very humanitarian. I do agree on him. When a person have the right to ownership a piece of property, he will motivated to cultivate his property. Private property is desirable in economic institution because it compensate man’s desire for order.
Natural law which that is an ethics derived from observing the fundamental norm of human nature, this norm are the will of God for creations. In nature law, you cannot violate this, because it comes from within. You will suffer from severe guilt that leads you to anxiety if ever. But in relation of current time. All I can say is that norms varies time to time. It changes later on. The standard itself is not that usual one.
Economic Transactions & Economic activity should be considered within the framework of natural law since day occur as Roman attempts to obtain materials provided by nature to achieve certain ends. He also said that I can still recall. Trade itself is not an evil it is moral and worth of the goods depends of the motives & the conduct of the trader.

According to the provision of obligation under Book 4 civil code of the Phil. Title I article 1175. Usurious transaction shall be governed by special law. Simple loan muttum is a contract where by one of the parties delivers to another money or consumable thing upon the condition that the same amount of the same kind & quality shall be paid.
The above article is inspired by Aristotle. Aristotle is an anti-usury advocate. We knew that even if its not already written in civil law, usury is violation in natural law. Usury transaction is contracting or receiving interest in excess of the amount allowed by law for loan or use of money. Currently, I watched XXX when Tambunting was issued as usurious transaction. Since Aristotle is against to those loan shark, he is also against to those people who accumulate to much wealth. Just analyze how greed you are when you possess that deeds.

“A moral person is happy person” This line penetrate my inner soul and simultaneously disturb my mind. It really change my mentality.
The theory of forms also underlies Plato’s most tough and best known work, The Republic, in a search to understand the nature and value of justice, Plato offers a vision to me. In the republic, the ideal citizen is one who understands how best they can use their talents to the benefit of the whole of society, and bends unerringly to that task. Wow! How tough! Its really me, that’s the reason why I’m still part of Damdam Kalilimodan. As well as the other members, why they still a part of damdam kalilimodan. There is little thought of personal freedom or individual rights in Plato’s Republic, for everything is tightly controlled by the master for the good of the state as a whole.
Plato thinks there must be one ideal way to organize society, of which all actual societies are mere in perfect copies, since, they do not promote the good of all.
In relations Plato’s contribution to current events. Those are corrupt politician that causes the Philippines drowning. Are they considered as a moral person, are they happy on what they did? Corruption is the premiere reason why our country suffers until right now of poverty. Supposedly we are lucky of our resources because we are wealth. But why can’t still felt it now. Think about it the fundamental thought of Plato, that when we are going to apply it, everything follows. “A moral person is happy person.”

When I used to read the Biography of Schumpeter. I admired him specially when I read that Schumpeter was a brilliant student praised by his teachers.
Being a Business Administration student his contributions in Economics is very useful: Business Cycles, Economic Development, Entrepreneurship, Evolutionary Economics, Creative Distraction, Walrasian Equilibrium Capitalism, Socialism, & Democracy.
What about the Creative Destruction? In determinate, it has something to do with the innovation of the existing product, to maintain the Walrasian equilibrium. His theory is very influential mostly in Marketing students. You don’t have to stop innovating your product. Just keep upgrading.
In current scenario, it is applicable in most cell phone company and high technology product. They keep on innovating and out phasing their product.

This man is the reason why I’m majoring Economics. Alfred Marshall is the father of Microeconomics. He was the proponent of law of supply and demand. Marginal util
ity and cost of production. In my first economics subject during my freshie years. The lesson of supply & demand captured my interest. That made me decide to continue majoring economics.
In accounting major they are famous on debit & credit, in Economics we also have the supply and demand. It is the ultimate nature of reality when you are in the world of economics. You cannot proceed to the higher economics without the fundamental of supply & demand. It is a requisite and it should always in your mind when your economics major. Alfred Marshall is part oif the fundamental I’ve incurred.
I’m not a good economist yet I’m not the worst one. I always bare in my mind & heart the being a master-economics I must possess a rare combination of gifts. I must be a mathematician, historian, statesman, philosopher, I must be purposeful and disinterested…. As a loof and incorruptible as an artist, yet sometimes as a politician.
It’s a challenge for me to enter the world of economics yet I’m confident as long as my fundamental is strong.

Taxation is the trade mark of Henry George
I will not argue him, that holds that everyone owns what they create, but the everything found in nature, most importantly land, belongs equally to all humanity. So much important for that, that’s the reason there’s a land value tax. And the premiere purpose of that is for equal distribution of the wealth by means of Gvt.spending.
We knew that George theory plays good circulation in mankind, mostly in Philippines because the only principal sources of Gvt. Revenue is taxation. I’m hoping that the said Revenue all distributed to the Filipino. The theory of Henry George will considered invaluable if the tax we paid will evaporate later on and it will not distributed to the most needed.

He was able to differentiate the balance trade and favorable trade.Now days I hope that the Philippines engage more exporting rather than importing. But as far as I knew, we consume more just like what happen during the food crisis, we import rice from other country, in contrary I don’t know if exportation still excess right now. The competition would benefits society by keeping prices low, while building in incentive for a wide variety of goods services.
Example of now a days is the competition of two huge network in the Philippines we have the saw called in smart and globe which cater the cellular phone network connection. Because of the competition of this two company, they latch different promos the unlimited texting, and a lot of promos, that the subscribers are benefited. This two networks try to lessen amount of their competition their interests to get more subscriber.
The economics freedom, economic libels, free track, free enterprise, laze faire lead to the economic boast. If anyone have a freedom to sell, even a piece of candy unconsciously he help the circulation of the economy and that’s the concept of invisible hand. Where in even a single Magtataho contribute the circulation of economy.
I admired him also on his principles. Ruling of the sector which is the public education for poor adults, army, and public administration. It’s a huge benefits to the society.

Ear infection is the cause of death, What! It’s amazing! Well perhaps during that time, there wasn’t such room for doctors. Kidding aside, I’m not influence with his economist. I 
don’t know. Perhaps of the reporters who did not allocate well. As part of my duty of being a student. I found out that his contributions the Ricardian equal, labor theory of value, comparative advantage, Law of diminishing returns.
What was absorbed by my memory is the explanation of Mrs.Vistal bout the comparative advantages. It state that if the country is more efficient in producing a certain product then another country. It would be better if you specialize that product which you consumed a shorter time but you can produce efficiently. Yah Right! Good for the Philippines are abundant in natural resources that cater in producing agricultural products, plus the factor of our climate is an asset to us to specialize in agriculture. Why don’t we focus this agricultural rather than industrialization which needs lots deeper method just to produce a product? Let’s focus on what our assets and then export it. Let import our needs, that’s it.

Being a researcher of life of Karl Marx and after I read his history. I felt empathy of different scenario existed during the era of Karl Marx. He was able to create a different theories based on what he experiment. Those theories of exploitation theory of value, theory of surplus labor, theory of communism. His theory is very influential by his phrase that “the more you produce, the move you get power“ That is very through. In the scenario, the capitalist only benefited without giving the bonus to the workers.
In current days, KMU aka
Kilusang Mayo Uno, and different Union are strong believer of Karl Marx. They insist the power of worker towards the company being a worker as well. I also believe that being a worker; you must have the right after the compensation.A Marx theory contributes a lot in current time. It minimizes the capitalists to exploit the worker because they are aware that even a worker is not just a ordinary human, they are also responsible of the circulation of the company. I really idolized Karl Marx dispute the negative impact at his life strong because I’m not after of his life story. I what counts most his tough contribution that favors the worker. Just bare in mind that human are distinct than machine. This is it.
